Its been such a long time since I wrote here. A lot of things have happened. Sem8 is nearly over. I spend most of the time participating in all the fun activities in college... took a lot of photographs.
Now, did I mention that I have a cool new camera, Nikon P1 (8Megapixels) ... you should see the quality of those photos, really awesome!! I have uploaded a lot on flickr ... but those are scaled down. http://www.flickr.com/photos/nunespascal/ . No, I won't post photos there in future. Why? I have a whole list of grievances againts it... but before that, why I started to post there:
Flickr is the best photo publishing service that I could find online. It is really wonder for what it is supposed to do... publish photos. There is just one problem, it does not allow a hell lot of things in the free account. And I don't have the cash to buy a pro account. The free account allow you only 20MB upload per month; feels a lot doesn't it?! Well consider that my new cam generates photos of sizes 1-2MB per photo... at full quality is it between 2-4MB. Now here is get restrictive... But I loved flickr so much that I deviced a work around... I would scale down the photos(and yes, the max size allowed on flickr is 1024 x 768, so all the extra data you upload in those high quality photos is just a waste of bandwidth)... I could live with that, and the extra work it involved, cause of the things like tags, comments, notes on photos... views, ratings, connections to friends and alerting me of their uploads; things that I really love about flickr. But then one fine day I am shocked to find that flickr is deleting my photos from my photostream(that is what they call your collection there), I came to know that flickr does not really delete your photos but removes them from your list a free account holder can have only about 200 photos up there... that was really bad. I lost a lot of photos and comments that friends had left on those. That is when I decided that I had had enough of flickr, and I needed to find some better way to publish my photos... a place that would archive them, so that I could show my entire collection to my friends. That is when I found picasa and hello. They do all the work themselves, make life really easy. My initial plan was to use them to archive and put a few photos in flickr for friends to see. But after the ease provided by them, I have become to lazy to take the pain to upload on flickr. Will write more about picasa and hello some other time.
This is where I am keeping all the photos... in a nice blog on blogger.

Why not on this blog itself? Cause I though uploading a lot of photos would mess up things here. I take a lot of photos. And a lot of photos mean the page takes ages to load.
Yes, I plan to blog a lot more often. And the look needs a lot of changes too. Will do that very soon. Can't put down a date at present cause there are a lot of things to take care of at present. This started out as "Musings", I had so much to write; but ended up being camera and flickr! I have to leave now, can't carry on writing.., will be back to continue...
